Is Mullin A Trustworthy Conservative?

There is too much evidence that shows Congressman Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma is a very liberal Republican, continually voting for reckless spending, enlarging the federal government, and invading the liberties of you and me. I am a Libertarian, but if you understand my principles I believe true Conservatives will find more reason to support me than they will find in Mullin. Here are just a few links that I have found interesting while researching my opponent, but please do your own research and I trust you will choose who will best represent you: because YOUR life matters.

Rep. Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., is the antithesis of a citizen legislator our founders had in mind when they called for a new nation founded upon new principles 241 years ago.

In 2012, Mullin was very clear about the purpose of the term limit pledge. He declared, “I don’t want to be up there (in Washington) and become part of the problem,” and that “if we can’t accomplish anything in six years, it’s a waste of time anyway.”

And in the case of OK-2, voters will have a chance to replace a man who, by his own admission, shouldn’t even be on the ballot.

Remember the Oklahoma congressman who told a group of constituents it’s “bullcrap” to suggest that taxpayers pay his salary? Well, he is evidently so addicted to power that he is now entertaining the idea of breaking his pledge to serve only three terms.

Indeed, Mullin has accomplished a lot in six years. He has sided with the swamp leaders on every major issue, including backing a bill to permanently enshrine Obamacare, violating his most basic campaign promise in 2012.

To anyone who knew Mullin from day one, this is no surprise. This is a man who was caught during the 2012 campaign telling voters that single-payer was the solution to our health care crisis. It is this basic lack of foundational principles that plagues so many members; it’s just that Mullin has a double dose of the GOP duplicity disease.

Tulsa World:

Mullin can be heard saying, “You say you pay for me to do this? Bullcrap. I pay for myself. I paid enough taxes before I got there and continue to through my company to pay my own salary. This is a service. No one here pays me to go.”

When several members of the audience object, Mullin says, “I’m just saying this is a service for me, not a career, and I thank God this is not how I make my living.”

Politico:

Despite a ban on lawmakers being significantly involved in outside business interests, the Oklahoma Republican remained an officer or board member in several of the plumbing firms, starred in their TV and radio commercials, and received more than $600,000 in income last year from the companies, OCE asserted. Mullin owns four of the companies outright and a fifth is owned by his wife.
